The Wedding | Venue
Both ceremony and reception will be held at the historic Willard Straight Hall student union building, situated in the heart of Cornell University's central campus. Willard Straight Hall faces Ho Plaza and sits at the foot of the iconic Cornell University clocktower.
The Straight opened its doors in 1925, and has been the center of student life at Cornell for nearly a century.
Guests staying at the Statler Hotel will find Willard Straight Hall to be a short 5-minute walk through Cornell's central campus. Guests staying in off-campus hotels will find that ample parking is available at the rear of the Hall.
Ceremony & Cocktail Hour: The Ivy Terrace
The ceremony will take place outdoors on the Ivy Terrace, which offers the must stunning view in Ithaca. Situated at the top of Libe Slope, the Terrace overlooks Cornell's West Campus, with glimpses of Cayuga Lake in the distance.
A cocktail hour will immediately follow the ceremony.
Reception: The Memorial Room
Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, the reception will be held in the Memorial Room, a large ballroom-like multipurpose room which is immediately adjacent to the Ivy Terrace. The Memorial Room has hosted many Cornell University functions over its nearly 100 year history.
Flags representing each of Cornell's colleges hang from the walls of the Memorial Room, and the names of each of Cornell's presidents are etched into the ceiling's stonework. A massive stone fireplace also serves as a primary feature of this room.
